Missouri levies no extra penalty for ex-casino chief
JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri regulators have concluded that a former casino executive's political threat to a St. Louis official was an "isolated incident."
The Missouri Gaming Commission investigated and decided Wednesday not to take disciplinary action Dan Lee. But it is seeking $16,800 from Lee to pay for the probe.
The former Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. CEO became angry during a St. Louis County Council meeting in November after officials approved another casino's zoning request. Lee is accused of telling the aide to Councilman Steve Stenger that the vote was a political mistake and would not be forgotten.
Lee resigned several days later.
In an apology to Missouri gambling regulators, Lee said he had lost his composure and "has paid a very high price."
