Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. said Monday that it expects to open its $392 million River City Casino in Lemay earlier than previously planned.
The opening of the south St. Louis County casino is now scheduled for early March 2010, earlier than the previous opening date of spring 2010, Las Vegas-based Pinnacle said. Spring starts March 20, 2010.
Pinnacle still needs to get a gaming license from the Missouri Gaming Commission.
Earlier this month, Pinnacle received nearly 4,000 applications for 1,000 job openings at the 90,000-square-foot casino, which will have more than 2,000 slot machines and 55 table games.
Pinnacle also owns Lumiere Place in downtown St. Louis.
